Historic Neighborhood

North Greenbush

If you love history and want to spend some time in an area with a rich past, North Greenbush is the place for you. Greenbush was split in 1855, then North Greenbush was formed. In the 17th century, Killian Van Rensselaer ruled the territory as a Dutch colony, and the Dutch imprint remains. North Greenbush's location beneath Troy and across from Albany made it a key Hudson trade route stop. After the French and Indian War, more people settled in North Greenbush. North Greenbush is one of the best places to live in New York.
